Caterpillar® C9.3 Engines

The Caterpillar® C9.3 is a 9.3-litre, inline six-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine built for demanding industrial, agricultural, construction, and marine duty cycles. It features a 115 mm bore and 149 mm stroke, and depending on configuration, industrial ratings range from roughly 224-298 bkW (300-400 bhp) at 1800-2200 rpm, while marine propulsion variants can reach up to 476 bhp (355 bkW) at 2300 rpm. The engine uses a turbocharged, aftercooled design paired with electronic engine management, giving operators a strong balance of power density, fuel efficiency, and responsive performance across a wide operating range.

Because of this versatility, the C9.3 has become one of Caterpillar’s most widely specified mid-range engines, appearing across a huge range of equipment types. Industries and applications powered by C9.3 ACERT engines include agriculture, aircraft ground support, bore/drill rigs, chippers and grinders, combines and harvesters, compactors and rollers, compressors, construction, cranes, crushers, dredgers, forestry, forklifts, general industrial use, hydraulic power units, irrigation equipment, loaders and forwarders, material handling, mining, mobile earthmoving equipment, mobile sweepers, paving equipment, pumps, shovels and draglines, specialty agricultural equipment, sprayers, surface hauling equipment, trenchers and underground mining equipment. The engine is also a common choice for marine propulsion, auxiliary power, and generator set applications, where it’s valued for its compact footprint and reliable performance in continuous or cyclic duty.

Given how many machine types rely on the C9.3, keeping a reliable supply of quality replacement parts is essential for operators and fleet managers looking to minimise downtime. That’s where our catalogue comes in — covering everything from crankshafts and cylinder kits to fuel systems, turbochargers, and electrical components, so you can keep your C9.3-powered equipment running at its best.
